Stop Paying Double for Your
Replacement Toner Cartridges

by Larry

Are you paying way too much for your replacement toner cartridges? What do you really know about compatible toner cartridges? Do you know how much a quality compatible toner cartridge will save on on your printer budget? Every time you purchase an OEM replacement toner cartridge, you pay twice what you should pay. I know. I did this for several years.

Most people don’t know enough about compatible toner cartridges. Some think compatible toner cartridges will void their warranty. That’s not true. In fact, it’s against the law. Others believe the quality and quantity of print will not be as good. That’s also not true. Compatible toner cartridges are manufactured to the exact OEM standards of your laser printer. They are guaranteed to be as good or better than the original cartridge. They will print the same number of pages with the same quality.

Perhaps the real reason most people haven’t discovered how to cut their replacement toner cost in half is they believe what major printer companies are saying. Major printer companies spend thousands of dollars every year to discourage you from trying a compatible toner cartridge.

I think it’s ironic. Did you know many major printer companies are selling you compatible and remanufactured toner cartridges? The problem is, you’re paying full price for their brand name toner cartridge. Look at your package label. See if it says, “manufactured from new and recycled parts”… enough said.

My name is Larry. I owned my own business for over twenty year and used laser printers extensively. As part of my business, I sent out thousands of marketing letters each year. I owned four laser printers. Here’s what took me years to discover…

When you purchase original replacement toner cartridges, you will pay nearly seven times as much for toner cartridges as you paid for your laser printer. This is based on a normal printer life expectancy of five years. If your laser printer lasts more than five years, which many do, you will pay more.

I was very happy with the laser printing results I was getting. I was quite reluctant to try a compatible laser toner cartridge. Finally, I decided it wouldn’t hurt to try just one compatible laser toner replacement cartridge. After all, it was half the cost of my original toner cartridge.

The first thing I noticed was the print of the compatible toner cartridge was as good as the original toner cartridge. I figured that wouldn’t last… I was wrong. In fact, the compatible cartridge actually printed more pages than my original HP toner cartridge. I couldn’t figure that out, but curiosity got the best of me.

After doing some extensive research, I found out that many original toner cartridges are not filled to capacity. These toner cartridges print the number of pages given in the company specifications. However, I found that when the toner cartridge was completely filled with toner, you get more pages from the same toner cartridge.

I guess I accidentally purchased my first compatible toner cartridge from a reputable company. They had filled the toner cartridge to capacity. I not only got more pages of print with the same quality, but I also paid less than half of what the original HP toner cartridge had cost. When I calculated the cost per page, I was saving 70% by using a compatible laser toner cartridge.

Needless to say, I purchased another compatible toner cartridge and I got the same results. The only thing that has changed over the years is I now pay much less for compatible laser cartridges.

I must confess that over the fifteen year period I did purchase one compatible cartridge that simply didn’t work right. I contacted the company to report the problem. The company actually sent me another toner cartridge the next day… at no cost to me.

What I have learned is this… To cut your printing budget in half, purchase compatible toner cartridges… However, there is one catch.

Only purchase your toner cartridges from a reputable supplier. This is very important.

If you want to start saving money today on your replacement toner consider using a compatible!

A Laser printer vs Inkjet printer- what is the difference?

You have pen down all your requirements and you really know that you are in need of a printer. But stuck with something – To buy an inkjet printer or the laser printer? This feature will let you know the difference between two and will also help you know which printer suits your needs. Many folks do not know the difference. You would be surprised on how many folks I run into this with.  -Valerie
The inkjet printers differ on many basics like technology and network, cost, quality and speed. The very first basic difference between these two printers is the technology they are using to print the paper. The inkjet printer uses ink cartridges to print the document where as laser printer uses powdered toner to print the paper. The inkjets can hold as many as 100 to 150 sheets at a time in paper tray but laser printers have the capacity to hold 150 to 700 sheets. The laser printers have the inbuilt mechanism to queue the multiple print jobs at a single time. This shows that they have RAM in their architecture.

The other difference lies in the networking.
The laser printers are offered with the networking facilities but this option is not a must to have feature in inkjet printers. Unlike laser printers inkjet printers require a computer system to get linked to network.

The other factor that can really affect your decision is the cost. The inkjet printers are good picks for your inexpensive color printing. The laser printers are costlier than the inkjet printers. But if accounted for long run, laser printer will prove profitable for non-color printing.

The inkjet printer uses ink cartridges to print paper where as laser printer sprays the powdered toner to create the image. So the print quality produced by the laser printer is much superior as compared to the print quality of inkjet printer. The comparison of quality in any format let it be color or black, the laser printer is superior. No matter how many bucks you have paid for the inkjet printer it can not match the black quality of laser printer of moderate range even.

The next factor influencing your decision is the speed
. The laser printer is much faster than the inkjet printer. It can produce papers much faster in comparison to the inkjet printers. The page turn per minute is higher in the case of laser printers approximately 12 pages/minute (for monochrome laser printer) as compared to the inkjet printer (7 pages/ minute).

At first thought inkjet printers seem to be cheaper but if calculations in long run are made they will prove to be costly than their laser printer counterparts.
The inkjet cartridges are costlier and produce lesser page per refill. So if calculations are made the real picture will come in the scene. There are many brands available in the market for both the printers and you can select one from the wider product portfolio of HP, Ricoh, Epson, Canon, Brother and many others also.

Installing a new Laser cartridge

Believe it or not I do get asked this question! Installing toner cartridges on Laser printers varies by brand and model. These general instructions supplement or simplify the information in your printer manual.

1. Step 1 Turn off the printer

2. Step 2 Open cover or front of printer. (You should be able to do this easily, without tools.)

3. Step 3 Remove the existing toner cartridge by pulling its handle or top. Carefully lift it out or up toward you.

4. Step 4 Save the cartridge for recycling or refilling. Never toss it in the trash.

5. Step 5 Remove the new toner cartridge from its plastic bag. Use scissors if necessary.

6. Step 6 Gently shake cartridge from side to side. This must be done.

7. Step 7 Remove tape from bottom of cartridge.

8. Step 8 Put new cartridge in printer. You might need to push, but you shouldn’t need to force it.

 9. Step 9 Close the printer cover.

10. Step 10 Turn on printer.

11.  Step 11 Print a test page. If toner smears, repeat test page until it prints cleanly

Intro to blog on Ink/toner

I just cannot get this one blog to post!  Well here it is.  Who would figure a Fashion Merchandising Major would be working in the computer and printer industry. I had no clue what a 3.5 diskette was when I started a new part time job while going for a 2nd degree. I had typing in HS. In college actually private college for Fashion Merchandising had us take a class on computers.  Okay.. This was way back. They showed us some DOS program and what a 5.25 floppy was made out off. We had these funky computers and some black screen with green letters. I thought why the he.. do I need to know this? I am going to be a buyer someday for a major department store or work in textiles.

This category I will share everything I know and more on the industry and specific products. I am excited!
